My name is Virginia Emily Cabana, I'm a Canadian visual artist and photographer based in Tiothià:ke otherwise known as Montreal. I have a Bachelor's Degree in Photography from Concordia University and currently work as an Administrative Support Officer at L'imprimerie, centre d'artistes.
In addition, I also work as a freelance photographer. I mostly do couples, families, engagements, maternity, proms, graduations as well as professional headshots. I've recently discovered a love for animal portrait and I've been exploring that a lot lately with my favorite in-house model, Storm.
When I was eighteen years old, I was diagnosed with congenital anosmia; a medical condition characterized by the absence of olfaction since birth. In other words, I have no sense of smell! My anosmia has now became the focal point of my artistic practice, giving birth to an ongoing umbrella project titled Anosmialand.
Its first iteration, Anosmialand: Introduction, was the subject of my first solo exhibition which took place at the Maison de la Culture of Côte-des-Neiges in 2020 and 2021.

Mon nom est Virginia Emily Cabana, je suis artiste visuel et photographe canadienne basée à Tiothià:ke, Montréal. J'ai un Baccalauréat en Photographie de l'Université Concordia et je travaille en tant que responsable du soutien administratif à L'imprimerie, centre d'artistes.
Je travaille également comme photographe freelance. Je fais surtout des séances pour couples, familles, fiançailles, maternité, bals et graduations. J'ai recemment découvert une passion pour le portrait animalier que j'explore beaucoup avec Storm, mon modèle préféré.
À dix-huit ans, j'ai été diagnostiquée de l’anosmie congénitale; une condition médicale caractérisée par l’absence de l’olfaction dès la naissance. En d'autres mot, je n'ai pas d'odorat ! Mon anosmie est maintenant devenue le point focal de ma pratique artistique, donnant naissance à un projet cadre en continue intitulé Anosmialand.
La première itération, Anosmialand: Introduction, était le sujet de ma première exposition solo ayant lieu à la Maison de la Culture de Côte-des-Neiges en 2020 et 2021.
